Travel: Ireland - May 2014

Happy St. Patrick's Day! This is my favorite holiday and I am so proud to be Irish! To celebrate, I wanted to create a blog with a collection of photos I captured from my study abroad trip to Ireland in May, 2014 with Robert Morris University. It was an amazing two week experience to be able to travel through this incredible country with such rich culture and history. This was my second time visiting Ireland, the first being in 2008 with my high school marching band to march in the St. Patrick's Day Parade! I've been lucky enough to enjoy and experience this country at two different times of my life and each time has me itching to go back.

On this trip, the cities we stayed in were Galway, Sneem & Dublin, but we did a lot of traveling by bus so we were able to soak in the beautiful sites of the Irish countrysides. We were able to visit many attractions that you'll see photos of including (I might have missed a few!): the Cliffs of Moher, St. Patrick's Cathedral, Blarney Castle (yes, I kissed the Blarney Stone!), Blueberry Activity Farm, The Guinness Brewery, Kilmainham Gaol (a former prison in Dublin), Kylemore Abbey, Trinity College, Coomakista Pass, and the many sights and streets of Galway, Sneem and Dublin.

I could go on for days about this trip, but I'll let you fill in the blanks and trust your imagination. Feel free to ask any questions you may have about the trip!

It was an unforgettable trip and I can't wait to go back to Ireland again.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! May your pints be full and your luck be wide!

"May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rain fall soft upon your fields and,
Until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand."
